Re: Algae Build-up

Algaefix worked good in my tank. I didn't see any side effects. I used it for a couple weeks then really cleaned it and the algae has been more under control.

Re: clean water!

When cleaning the tank you will stir up trash and stuff. You filter will catch most of it. If it looks good the next day, I would say you did a good job. Don't worry how it looks the day of cleaning.

I just started dropping wafers in there at night.
In the morning I can see him going around the tank but he usually ends up in the corner. I guess he likes that corner.

Re: tap water conditioner

Since your putting the water into the bucket, that (3gal.) is all you have to treat.
It sounds to me you are doing good with cutting it back to 5ml or a bit less for 3 gal.
I don't think a little...

Re: Suggestions for begginer plants

Ok, I will look at the local fish stores. Most of the local fish places are ruff around here, dead fish, etc. There is only one that is halfway descent. I will check there.

Re: Suggestions for begginer plants

That sounds good. Is it the only live plant you have?

I really don't want something that requires a lot of maintenance.
I really like the idea of everything being real in the tank.
