Is it strange that my female has nipped off most of my male bettas fins? I am trying to breed them but it doesn't seem like it's working, at first they did clamp together and swim in sort of a circle...

this may sound silly but to breed a betta does the female betta need to be sort of the same color as the male?

Changed the carbon out, did a water change, stopped feeding for a day, and my water seems better but still a little smelly. I guess it is good enough fish will always have some sort of smell

I also have a "umbrella plant" as petco calls it and a cabomba. These are both new so I don't have much to say about them yet, as far as a few weeks they are doing fine. Wisteria is great though...

With my stock lighting the Wisteria is doing great! No problems at all 17W in a 30g tank. Unfortunately my cichlids like to rip it out of the gravel every now and then but that thing grows anyway. No...
