Default Re: High PH with soft water

Trying to change ph can be dangerous to fish and it can also be a continuous battle with you adding chemicals often......Most fish will live ok in ph from 6.0 to 8.0.............If the water is very soft the ph will begin to drop by it's self...Soft water has little or no calcium in it and it is calcium that keeps water alkaline....There are ways to modify ph, but only if you have a strong need to do so....There are several discussions about ph in this sub forum you might find interesting.
I got off the porch and ran with the big dogs. Now I can't get back on the porch!
