Canopy for my 20gal tank
I have set up a new 10gal tank for my Blue Colombian Tetra as the canopy in the old tank would allow cat paws through just to scoop the fresh water from the filter though ... But just in case, I've changed the tank.
The new canopy has two incandescent lamps. I've changed on for a mini fluorescent and loosened up the other bulb and left it in place to avoid water coming into the socket. The sockets have the silicone caps.
As water condenses, the inside of the canopy is all wet. I would like to add a piece of glass so the water condensates on the glass instead of the canopy.
Would you say that a glass is advisable, or just leave the canopy as it is without the glass and let the water condensate on the inside of the canopy, as the bulbs are already protected by the silicone end caps?
ETA - My tank is 10gal, not 20gal

Re: Canopy for my 20gal tank
You could leave it as is, as long as the electrical components are protected.

A solution could also be air circulation... if you can manage to get some airflow between the water and the canopy, it could prevent it from collecting moisture. I know some companies sell clip-on fans specifically for fish tanks.

Re: Canopy for my 20gal tank
I leave the cover not quite snapped down on my smaller tanks, where condensation is sometimes a problem. It helps...

Re: Canopy for my 20gal tank
Thanks, I will try and see whether I can leave some space between the canopy and the tank. I cannot leave too much, as the reason for the new tank is to avoid "curious kitty paws" My older cat is fine, but I've recently added a new kitten. I will check for the canopy clips.
