how big is your tank?

As to your question yes guppies, swords, and neons will get along together well given you have a big enough tank to observe the rule of one inch of fish per gallon.

I have guppies, neons and shrimp in a 20 gallon planted tank (water wisteria, java moss, an unidentified moss, peacock fern, and jungle vallisneria). I have also put guppy fry in with sword fry when the two specie were about the same size (i.e. the swords wouldn't be able to eat the guppies) with no losses.

A Betta may or may not work out. Mixing them with other fish is iffy. One of three things may happen: The Betta may bully the other fish........The other fish may harass the Betta and nip the long flowing fins............Every one may get along just fine.....................No one can predict the out come
I got off the porch and ran with the big dogs. Now I can't get back on the porch!

Thank you for your answer. Mine is 30 gallons. How many small fishes should somebody have in a planted tank....of 5-10 gallons?
