It takes a special person to appreciate pets that you can not touch...that is probably why so many people think fish enthusiasts are odd. I still wish I could cuddle them though..they are so cute!

Well, if I stick my fingers in my tanks, most of the fish will come up and nibble me. If I'm wearing a colored bracelet and I dip my hand into a betta tank I better watch out!

I love listening to everyone's stories

I came upon fish a bit by accident when a neighbor abandoned his 10 gal tank, basically. Took it thinking "they're fish, you just feed them right?"

Obviously more work than I thought, but I'm absolutely hooked! Have since gotten another 10 gal, and saving for a 29. My son is 4, he's the same way as me - spends his piggy bank money on fish supplies!

Oh, if I were rich, the tank I'd have....

I think most people don't know just what is involved, I know I didn't when I started out and it can be very hard work and very sad sometimes - thank goodness for forums like this! but once you have the little darlings there is no turning back - I started with 1 little tank, now I have 8. You so right about having bigger/better tanks, I think everyone of us would love to be able to have the largest tank possible.

The hard work is definitely worth it and it will be a great experience for your 4 yr old too.
