White spot on Golden Gourami

My fish is a Golden Gourami, I just noticed the spot today.
-The fish has spent just over 5 days in my tank
-The Ph is around 7.0
-The temperature is currently 78.9 I have yet to get a heater for my tank and the temperature has been fluctuating 2-3 degrees 79 being the highest and 75 the lowest usually stays around 76.5 most of the day though

Is that spot on the top and just in front of the dorsal fin of the fish in the pic? If it is the spot you are talking about; I would say that it is probally a wound that is possibly getting fungused or infected. Try using Melafix. Watch to see if another fish is pecking at the gourami. That is a very nicely marked female gold gourami.

Once in a while my male dwarf gourami and golden will chase each other around but the golden is usually the instigator with the dwarf eventually defending himself. To me though they never look like they are really hurting each other more just like they are playing.

It could be that she has just lost some scales either from pecking as Dano said or rubbing against gravel/decor, It doesn't look infected to me but it is hard to tell (really is a beautiful coloured gourami - I've never seen one that colour).

That is a beautiful one Will, thanks for sharing - actually I have seen that colour (referring to my earlier post) but not as pronounced & they didn't have the spotted fins like yours.

I had some really nice blue, green, and gold gourami over the years, but none a nicely marked as yours.
