Default Breeding Rasboras!!

I did a water change this AM and my Harlequin Rasboras went into a breeding frenzy. I tried to get pics with my junk camera so what you see will be poor quality, but you can get the idea of what they were doing.
The females were flipping upside down and laying little clusters of eggs with the male right along side of her. This has been going on for more than an hour and the bottoms of many of the leaves have many eggs on them. I wish i had a good close up camera.

That must have been fun to watch! Any chance you'll get surviving fry?

I expect that many will hatch, but don't anticipate many surviving for long. They are in a fairly heavily planted 30L tank that probably has a lot of infusoria for the fry to eat.

Good luck with them..hope they hatch Dano. When I had harlies, they would spawn for a few hours every morning for about 3 wks each month, but the others usually ate the eggs nearly straight away.

Wow! I had heard they were difficult to breed in the aquarium. I've certainly not seen it in mine

Very cool!

Of course...not seeing it mine is probably a good thing...I don't have room

I've read that too! I think they will spawn fairly easily if they like the conditions, but I believe the difficulty is getting the eggs to hatch/fry to survive...the water conds. have to be exact.
