I have a large african cichlid tank, a 4 foot planted live bearer tank, 2 foot goldfish tank and a nano marine tank.

what would go well in the 3 footer that I don't already have? I was thinking some oscars but they'll out grow it.

any ideas?

Puggy, is your "3 footer" a 30 gallon or 40 gallon? If it is a 30 gallon, I hope you have good filtration and a good water change and maintenance routine. Thirty seven fish is a big load for a 30 and getting close for a 40.

oki dokey, here's a bit of a history lesson of what I have.

2 footer: 6 white clouds, 3 goldfish, 2 bristlenose (1 is albino), 1 molley

4 footer: 20 neons, 1 betta, 1 molley, 1 sword tail, 4 or 5 bridtlenose, 2 cories, 3 pakistani loaches, 1 siamese algea eater, red eye tetras and 1 silver shark.
The 4 footer is also heavily planted.

6 footer: 4 adult bristlenose, about 20 babies, 5 clown loaches, 5 cuckoo catfish, 10 mangano adults, about 6 babies, 10 celosie (sp) adults, about 4 or 5 babies, 5 peacocks, 20 electric yellows and about 40 more that I am still learning he names of.

marine tank: 2 clown fish (nemo), 1 starfish, 1 puffa, 1 angel fish and some snails + crabs.

so the biggest fish at the moment would be my adult cichlids. maybe a 2 bigish fish or a red devil and a pleco....dunno.

hit me with some ideas peoples.

ferret do you have any planted tanks? Planted is a pain but it is different from SW and artificial. Are you wanting a large FW fish or two?

[Added] I should have said a healthy live planted tank is beautiful!

How about a large school of Cardinal Tetras, and a large school of Corys...or shell dwelling cichlids...or Rams with tankmates...or Kribs with tankmates...or just send me the tank, and I'll find some way to fill it!!!!

yeah my 4 footer is a planted tank. I have to trim about 40cm off the plants (except the ferns) every weekend.

Ok, that is probably out then. IDK ferret. I'll see if I can come up with any more ideas. Do you want big fish for this tank?

funny when it comes to bills, kids or the spouse, there is always enough money, but when it comes to buying fish, or things for the tank, or a new tank, there is never enough money..

IMHO
i would do a few blood parrots..i just love them, they are my favorite all time fish.. they seem to have personality out of all the the fish i have.
the kribs are pretty cool also.. i really love watching my kribs at night.. they are better then ambien
a cichild tank is good to, from what i read, more is better, and in fish talk, that is always good.
a mixxed tank of tropical fish, gouramis, shark, tetras, corys are good to.. had that combo, and just loved it..
goldfish are cool too.. love watching them..
was gonna aslo do a native tank, but found babies and never did..but that seems awesome also.

heck, im good with anytank with fish..thay are all good!!

let us know what you decided

as for as the bettas go.. i had searched for ared one for months.. 55 gallon tank was in nothing but black and white gravel and plants, black and gold goldfish.. i wanted a standout..so a red male betta it was gonna be..
found one and he was awesome..found a female a few months later, and added her.. all was fine they got along great..was at walmart a few weeks later, christmas eve, and they only had one lonely betta left, a lil female.. beautiful red one.. felt sorry and bought her..woke up next morning, and she had tore my male to shreds.. i thought in a tank that large all would be fine, but i was wrong..
