Default A few questions

First i want to say that i'm quite lucky here. I posted a thread awhile ago stating i needed to buy a 5 gallon tank. Ended up that it's a good thing to wait for one when you don't really have the money . My uncle gave me a free 5 gallon tank that "might" have a broken filter. I still have to look at it. I'm not really sure what to put in this tank though. I was thinking of a betta and maybe my 2 cories in my 10 gallon that are left from the heat massacre.

Also i was wondering if there are any types of fish that work with any type of goldfish. My goldfishes are dying out one by one it seems now, so when spring comes i'm putting the last few in my pond with my koi (is that a good idea or can they die from that? the ones that are left are very hardy). So out of curiosity, are they any fish that work with goldfish in the same tank?

Thank you,
Pwat

You can't add anything with the goldfish, because you have too many in the tank now. Comets should be 1 per 20 gallons. They will be fine in the pond with the Koi, as long as they aren't too small.
Your goldfish are probably dying, because of this as well.

Yes i know. I can't really do anything about them right now though. I can only wait till spring when it's warmer. About why they're dying-yes, this is possible, but it could also be a high pH i have in that tank. I'm really hoping spring will get here soon. I didn't mean for my goldfish to have such horrible lives .

A suggestion would be putting them in a platic tub for the time being. One of the kind of tubs that you pack christmas ornaments or what not in. They are inexpensive, and you may have one at home already. They are a lot bigger and the fish would be much happier.

Good idea, if i can find one. I'll post a pic of the tank and show you, i really have some doubt that this tank isn't even a 20 gallon but really a 29. Go figure! I'm not sure though. By next post the tank should be up.
