Default aqua scape

I wanted to make something that can hold my live plants to make my tank more natural looking. So i got this idea that if i took some kind of plastic mesh and put section cops to the back of it, this way i could weave a plant through. My result hoping to have a live plant for the back ground of the tank.
Kind of like the way a vine grows up on the side of house of fence.

Construction well take place in the new year... I have to reserch on what plant will work the best and order it in.

I've seen this type of construction on some of the plant sales sites. Some places sell the mesh with the suction cups and all you do is cut it to the size that you want and put it in the tank.

You could probably make some for a fraction of the cost if you DIY Good luck Let us know how it goes....

Most aquatic plants will stand alone. Researching the various plants will give you a better idea of what you would like and the best way to keep them.

Thanks Greensleeves, i will check my lfs.

Dano, I have one of those backgrounds that go on the back of the tank, but to me they dont look relastic enough. I have plants there now that stand up pretty well. I just want to hide the back ground a little bit to make it more natural looking. I seen the the stryo foam ones at the lfs that have been painted to look real, but there not my cup of tea.

Regarding planting the plants. Something that helps me is weighting the stem just above the roots with the lead strips that can be bought. This allows the plant to root firmly where you want it rather than floating away especially when cleaning the substrate. Maybe you all know and do this anyway
