Default Buying fish online

OK, so in the saga of trying to round out my aquarium I went and decided that 4 dwarf/pygmy cory cats would be perfect.

Then I find out none are available in my area.

I'm leery of purchasing online; has anyone done this?

My wife works from home but I'm the one that maintains the tank and she wouldn't know what to do with the fish until I got home...

Otherwise I'll continue the search or simply expand the Rasbora school. I'd really like a third species and these cats seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

I alwase wondered how they got the fish to your door safely! Lets say there in a container of water and its overnighted, theres still a limited amount of air and the temp could flux dramaticaly!

I have ordered without problem. Only one time a pair arrived dead. They put them in a air breathing bag that is full of water and ir pass through the bag! You have to cut the bag and release them to the tank, never put the bag in water as this will not allow air movement into the bag. I have received Endlers, Cherry Shrimps, and Killis. And if you do nice research you will find that even with shipping you can get super nice deals. HTH in your descition.

How do they control the temperature?

Obviously the fish we buy at fish stores are shipped there, but I guess I envisioned a more climate controlled enviornment in those shipments than the back of a UPS truck and some guy tossing boxes about without a care...

Aquabid is a good place, you can sign up free and it allows you to check your seller's bid history.

I usually just look, but I've been tempted to buy stuff.
