Feeding Cucumber
Q. I was thinking of feeding cucumber to my fish - i feed them peas occassionally and just wondering whether you have to m.wave cucumber the same as with peas - i know you have to remove the skin and seeds but not sure if you have to boil it or not and how small the pieces have to be.
A. I found out that you do the same as frozen peas (which are best) - cut a thin slice but not so thin it falls apart, then remove the outer skin & seeds, wrap slice in moist paper towel and put in microwave for 20-30 seconds then take out and let it cool down and then cut into small bits and place in tank (size of pieces depends on size of fish) remove uneaten pieces within 2 hrs or so as it will start to decay.

Re: Feeding Cucumber
I wont do the fruits then ( thanks for the info )
I was initially trying to get my ottos something else to eat, because they look hungry, but my mollies and angles are hog heads and dont like to share
Should I consider algea wafers?

Re: Feeding Cucumber
Definitely...I use them in my tanks. The otos prefer fresh algae, but they will nibble the wafers. The other fish may like them as well....

Re: Feeding Cucumber
Fruit is fine as well. I feed my Ryukin and Pearlscale orange and strawberrie pieces. Just let them float and they will get them. Otoss also like celery. I use a clip for that.
