Will this be ok?
Hi all. I have a 20 gal. tank with 6 pygmy cory's and 7 beckford pencilfish. Would love to get one male dwarft gourami. Would this be ok? I know a honey gourami would be. But much rather have the male dwarft gourami. Thank you in advance for your comments.

Re: Will this be ok?
I think it would be ok. Just remember those dwarf gouramis sometimes are hard to maintain. Good luck

Re: Will this be ok?
Your tank appears stocked already. Are you planning to get a bigger tank in the near future? If so, they are compatible.

Re: Will this be ok?
It should be OK....Dwarf Gouramis have had health issues in the last year or so. Most fishkeepers find them difficult.

Re: Will this be ok?
Ok thank you all. Yes I am getting a 55 gal tank in May. My filter just came today for it. I will go ahead and get a gourami and put him in the QT for a week or so and keep and eye on him. If I see any problems, I can act quickly. Thanks again.

Hi sphenta how adorable to have pygmy cories, I would love to get some but they don't seem to be available here.
Dwarf G. really need pristine water conditions to thrive, which is another reason why I think many are already sick when we buy them. When you do introduce him to the main tank, I would also watch him closely for any signs of aggression towards the other fish.

Re: Will this be ok?
I was very lucky to get these cory's. My LFS ordered them 5 times and the last time they finally came in. I am good about my water changes and testing my water. So hopefully the Gourami will be ok. (I hope) Yes I sure will watch and make sure there is no troubles between the fishes. Thank you for all the help. Sphenta
