Question Can I add some

Kribensis in with my Rainbows? I looked on the compatibility chart & it says they mix with Dwarf Neon's but what about the rest of my Rainbows? Some guy in Boulder has a bunch & I guess he needs to turn some loose. Need some info here guys. I would love to add some of these to my tank but only if there going to get along. There very pretty little fish.

I would guess if Kribs mix with one type of rainbow they should be ok with another. Size and fin length would be something to consider. Kribs can be aggressive , particularly at breeding time..

Thats what I was thinking also. If they can live with 1 kind of rainbow why not all the kinds as rainbows are not aggressive. I just don't know. I'll have to give it more thought.

I have a few questions for you SueR:

How many gallons is your tank?

And were you thinking about breeding them?

If you dont want to breed them I would recomend getting either 1 male, or 2 females.

Personally I have never kept kribs with rainbows, it's one of those cases where you have to try and see.

120 gal. No I didn't want to breed them at all. I was thinking the same thing, maybe 2 or 3 females. It doesn't make sence that you can put them with Dwarf Neon's & not the rest of the rainbow's. I'm going to have to get more info before I mix the 2. I would love to add these beautiful fish to my tank but I don't want any problems. Any other thoughts about this?

I think that is should be OK Sue - Some rainbowfish can get quite big & it is IMO better to keep kribs with other fish of similar size which maybe why only the dwarf neon rainbows are mentioned.

Even though aggressive when breeding kribs are very shy fish & they may hide all the time if much larger fish are in the same tank.
