ya they also called black phantom tetras. I dont think neon tetras or leopards danios will be ok. because knife fish will eat anything that fits in there mouth. My black knife ( he is only 5 inches) had a couple of rummynose before i sold them ( which is dosile but hungry and the iredesent ones are basicly the same fish). I say black skirts and white skirt tetras ( the school togeather so you can have a lil color). Giant danios might scare your knife becuse they move like lightning.

Josh may have a point about the giant danios scaring the knifefish, does your knifefish scare easily Sharon? I think neons might be a bit dicey - perhaps cardinals, scissortail rasboras, celebes rainbowfish (a bit less colourful maybe, but do school together nicely & are a different shape that other rainbows, very peaceful as well) - zebra or leopard danios might be OK because they are very fast & would produce fry supplying live food for the knifefish & angel.

As you mentioned Sharon, this knifefish is one of the less aggressive ones & very peaceful, but being a carnivore he may be tempted to eat any small fish, same with the angel. If the knifefish & angel are still small it may be OK.

Big decision!!!!!!!!

I went to the store today, and looked at the Giant Danios, and the Zebra Danios. I came home with nothing.I hate making decisions, where someone can get eaten!!! The Knife(Mac) does scare easily. He's only just starting to venture out among the others, and I've had him for approx. a month.

LOL! "Mac" the knife, nice one - I'm guessing that came from the song?

Maybe it might be best to let him get more comfortable/secure first. At least this way you can take a bit more time to think about it.

I'm terrible at making decisions & I hate it too! I agonise over it for dys/weeks giving myself migraines.

I looked and I looked and the only suitable fish I could find was a Pecilfish, they shoal, they get big enough to not be eaten, and there are plenty of species to choose from.

Hope I helped.

Thanks Cole ...They never have them here, but I may be able to get them when I go out of town. Bernie, Ken named him Mac...and it did come from the song.

I know that you already discarded the idea of rainbow fish but what about some neon rainbows? There is only one LFS in the area here that has them but they are neat and from what I saw they school tighter than other rainbow fish. They don't get as big as other rainbows either but would definitely be fine with the angels.
