Question My 10 Gallon Tank

Hi

Right now I have a Betta and 2 Danios In a 10 gallon tank. When the tanks is fully cycled (Ammonia went to 1.5 and has now been at .25 for a couple days) and assume that I will get 2 more Danios (I like them ) , what will be some fish to top the tank off? What fish would be compatible with my Betta?

Thanks for the comments

It seems like the amount you have and you will gain will be enough for your 10 gallon. I don't really know what other fish you can get that will work with your fish. Maybe some Cory's or Otto's if your intrested in them. It's your desicion.

I have red eyed tetra's, blackwidow tetra's, neon tetra's, molleys, sword tails, bristlenose and cories all mixed in with my betta. they seem to play nice.

maybe some of those may tickle your fancy.

Sounds like some good fish (I like the Tetras). What would be some good combinations with a male Betta and four Danios ??
Thanks for the advice

Personally I would not add more then 5 total fish in a 10g. I had very bad luck w/ skirt tetras, leopard danios and my betta in my 20g. My guess was the skirt tetras were nipping the betta because I had seen them chase him. I'm sure tank size plays into combatibility with our friends.

Talking Re: My 10 Gallon Tank

Hi

I am having second thoughts about getting 2 more danios. So If I have a Betta and 2 danios what would be some possible combinations with these fish. I like Otos and interesting fish like marbled hatchetfish and invertebrates. I know I dont have a lot of room for more but if anyone has some ideas I would love to hear them.

THANKS

Some ghost shrimp? I dont think schooling fish are a good idea in your tank because most tetras and other schooling fish need 6 of each other. This will overcrowd your tank. Some shrimp might be nice. But take my words, do not get snails!

Like most catfish, ottos need a group of three or more. Indeed some can live alone and make it through their 7 years alive. Here is an article on them:

http://www.timstropicals.com/Freshwa...tfish/Otto.asp

They seem like a rather good partner for betta's or any fish that arent aggresive and large. If you do pick otto's make sure to get soem pictures of them!

BTW if you need any information just click Fish Facts on the top bar of the page and then put in the name of the fish. If that doesnt help for what you are looking for, google can also help you.

If you decide to get an Oto...make sure you wait until the tank is totally stable and mature(cycled for three months). They are sensitive to water quality, and many people have trouble keeping them.
