Tetra has big, red lips

What kind of growth? I wonder if he got hurt and now infection is setting in and it's fuzzing over, or if this is some kind of fungus or other disease, albeit a strange one! I cant find anything about this, something had to have happened to him, but what? Trying to break it down, I am assuming the lips are swollen and red from either injury or irritation, so I think those are reactions and not part of the problem that caused it. So, that only leaves so much to go on and it aint much! Something got into his mouth, ok, you didnt switch foods, but did you recently open a new container? Maybe they changed the formula and it bothered him? I dunno,Im just throwing stuff out there, this is so weird we have to figure it out Maybe an insect or something got into the tank and he ate it and it iriitated him...or maybe he tried to eat something he thought was food and it was part of another fish and he got hurt? What fish are in this tank together again? Maybe he got punched in the mouth by one of the others for looking at their fishwoman?

LOL! Although, it does look like a fat lip or else Botox.

Nope, no new containers and no fuzzing, (yet anyway). The fish in that tank are the most docile I have ever seen! I love that aquarium! There are two female Mollies, one black male Mollie, (gentle, gentle, gentle), four Corys, two Ottos, and six Neons.

I haven't noticed any insects in there at all, but they sure could have gotten in there without me noticing, if the fish ate them right away.

This really strange! It is strange also that it matches "exactly" with the red on his body too.

This same topic was posted on another forum today fishlover. Did the neons lips go back to normal? Did you ever find out what caused the problem?

He ended up dying with the big, red lips. Nope, never found out what caused it.
