Default Rena Smartheater Question!

Hello every one, I hope you are all doing well today. I have a quick question………

Does any one know anything about theses Rena SmartHeaters? (I provided a link for this item at the bottom of this thread)

I am planning on getting a 75 gallon tank with a Rena FilStar XP3 and a Rena SmartHeater 300. Rena tells me that I can mount this heater to the inlet tube of my filter.

At first I was thinking that this was the way to go just to have less “clutter” on the back of my tank, but as I started thinking more about this, I started to think……
How efficient can this be if I am heating water entering the filter vs. heating the water leaving the filter?

Personally I think the water will lose heat as it passes through the filter making the heater less efficient. I wanted to find out what other members thought about this and hopefully maybe some one out there does run this type of set up, and if so how well does the SmartHeater perform when used as a pick up tube with the Rena XP Filter line. Thank you in advanced for your time, and I look forward too your responses. Thanks

The heated water probably passes thru the filter too fast to loose much heat. I prefer stand alone heaters. You can get the totally submersible heaters that you can hide from view behind things.

First time I've seen Rena. I like the fact it's unbreakable. It is rated 5 stars. It claims to keep the temp even and it has a good review there on the site. I will be in the market for more heaters. I want heaters that will not break.
