Default RIP Ghost shrimp

Unfortunatly my 2 year old Ghost shrimp died today, surprisingly he was the oldest fish/shrimp I have ever kept. He even survived the tank I set up before I realized what cycling was.

He was full grown and about 2 1/2 in.

Cole, that is a good long life for a lone shrimp. I'm sure that it passed having had a full happy life.

Sorry to hear that Cole, he made it to a ripe old age though. Are you going to get another?

Aww, sorry Neo .

I have 1 ghost (almost a year old) that lived through an uncycled tank, puffers and most of all me learning how to care for aquarium life. Shrimp are a very cool part in this hobby. I love them!

So far he was the only Ghost shrimp that lived over a month.

I usually get around 10 and about half of them die within two days. I feed the dead ones to my other fish, (Knobbs loves them)

I had the same kind of luck Neo. I bought 3 and 3 at a time, the other 5 died shortly after bringing them home. I never thought it would be so hard to keep ghost shrimp. 1 out of 3 of my orange bees died months later. It's always tough to lose our tank friends.

I found another ghost shrimp inside my java moss

Hopefully this one lives as long as my last one.

Thankfully I have gotten rid of the "Ghost Shrimp Hoard" that took over my 30 gal. I started with about 20 and wound up with hundreds. I gave them away by the net full. For some reason the fish in the tank did not make a dent in the things. I occasionally see a shrimp, but I am thankful that none are "berried". It wouldn't have been a bad thing if they had been Cherry Shrimp or one of the Crystal Shrimp, I could have traded or sold those!
