ok I just finished doing a 40% water change and vacuumed the other half of the substrate that i didnt do last week... man that stuff was filthy... I couldn't even see the bottom of the bucket I was using...

my favorite fish would probably be the parrot and the oscar... the Midas is my 3rd I just think he's getting too big... so which ones should I leave?

The Oscar in a 55gal. without tankmates is a good idea. Oscars are lovely fish, and have great personalities. That was the choice I hoped you'd make! I'm not sure if the parrot can stay long term...but he should be fine for now. I hear that Oscars poop rabbit sized pellets as adults, and the high waste is why you need good filtration. I'd look into another filter as soon as possible, and run it alongside the filter you have now. Keep up the water changes, as they can get HITH, if water quality is poor. Good luck!!!

It's not surprising that they require good filtration!!!

I can see why they would require excellent filtration.

Nothing to do with turds, but the first time I saw an Oscar, I thought it was just an ornament. He just stayed in one place and didn't move. He was HUGE! Beeeeeeautiful fish, though.

Big fish need just a little bit more than filtration. Their tanks require attentive vacuuming frequently, particularly if you feed too much.
