Re: Personal Names for Fish
Most of the time I do not name each individual fish, but there have been a few exceptional fish I did name.

Re: Personal Names for Fish
I only name my bettas, and even then, I use rather ordinary names like Blue, Flame, Heart, Steel. I would name the other fish but I can never tell them apart! if there is a distinguishing feature, it might help but they all look very very similar

Re: Personal Names for Fish
My pride of my 125 is a male Haplochromis obliquiden and his name is Victor!
Yrs ago, I had one male that lived in that same tank with a 15 inch Australian arawana. Thankfully, I raised that Aussie from 4 inches and was never fed live food.

Re: Personal Names for Fish
I only name my pleco's as there's too many bows in my tank to name. I normaly only have 1 to 3 pleco's in my tank at one time. Right now I have a Hoover, a Kirby, & a Dyson.

Re: Personal Names for Fish
I named my fish I only have 4 so its not hard to tell them apart. I have Slice (orange tail guppy), Sprite (yellow tail guppy), squirt (small albino cory), and spaz (larger albino cory). I would love to keep naming my fish as long as I can tell them apart. I can see how it could get difficult/pointless to name them when you have several that look alike.

Re: Personal Names for Fish
I called our betta Ginsu after what one of the ninja turtles said in the 1st movie when leonardo was slicing a pizza over his head. sounded cool and being NINJA turtles and FIGHTING fish....it seem to fit.
I also have a starfish called Chuck. not sure why but it deemed to work. All the other fish are too hard to name as there are too many.

Re: Personal Names for Fish
I have named all of the fish in my tank
People name dogs & cats so why not fish?
My first albino cory catfish is called Darnell after Darnell from Big Brother!
