New tank

My new customized tank is 18'x18'x20'. I'm not sure how many gallons it is. I have been cycling the tank for 2 weeks now. It contains crushed corrals and 2 large live rocks. When the tank reaches 4 weeks i am thinking of adding butterflies, angelfish, tomato clownfish, 2 turbo snails, and 2 cleaner shrimps. Would this be ok?

Use the formula: L x W x H divided by 231 (inches). Your tank is approx. 28 gallons. Be sure to thoroughly research the type of butterfly and angel fish you want before you buy them. They often have different food requirements and tolerance of each other. Be very selective, because 28 gallons won't support many critters. There are many opinions, but I only kept 1 small to medium fish per 5 gallons of water. I was always over filtered and did frequent water changes. Good luck.............

What type filtration and water circulation will you be using? Will you be using a protein skimmer? What type lighting?

Im using a biological filter and the lighting im using is HO is that be ok? it is recomend to used a protein skimer even you dont have corals?

What do you mean "biological filter"? I used protein skimmers on all of my marine tanks (in sump and HOB). P skimmers remove waste before it can convert to ammonia products. Skimmers aren't mandatory, but they do help the over all filtering capacity of a tank system. Standard flouresent and VHO lighting will work fine for fish only, but some corals require stronger lighting.

When you say bio filter is it a wet/dry sump, hang on the back, or cannister filter? Bio filter can mean many things
