Default Betta Bamboo Vase?

Do you think it would be ok to put a betta in a bamboo vase. Here is a picture of it:

Thanks!

Hello Pwat,I don't really recommend that. Bettas like larger spaces. But if you want to. Be sure to feed him if you do.

Hi Pwat. I wouldn't put any fish in a vase. Did you read this yet: http://www.tropicalfishforum.net/showthread.php?t=1704

Hi Pwat, NO, that is not suitable, even if the package says it is. That is too small to provide adequate space and would be the equivalent of you living in a closet for the rest of your life. Think about it....

Oh ok thanks guys. I guess i was misdirected. What is a good sized aquarium to have for 1 betta? I've always wanted to have one, and i saw a really nice marble one the other day. Thanks guys, i'll give it the love it needs if i ever get one.

Usually a 5 or 10 gall. tank - they do need a heater & filter.

I have my Betta in a 10 gallon. He loves all that room to swim!

When I got home from petsmart,I placed my betta in my 55 gallon tank. He thought it was the ocean! But a 1/2 gallon works great. Don't go smaller than that.

I disagree, 1/2 gallon is too small. That even goes against the 1 gallon per inch rule of thumb then too. At least 3 gallons, but 5 or 10 would be better and he would be happier.

Hey, you live and learn. I'm glad you asked first instead of after the fact Get a set up with at least a couple of gallons, a heater and filter and you will be so rewarded when you see how happy he is . When I first got Azul, he was white with some blue streaks in his tail. Now he's pink with bright periwinkle all through his fins and he is Mr. Personality. We just got Raven a few days ago, he looks a little ratty now, but I know he's going to be beautiful. Good luck!
