Bettas have to be my favorite fish. The reason I chose crowntail was because crowntail bettas look good with all strains weather it is a Halfmoon or veiltail.
Plus they are easy to get and are common.

I have a male betta named Z who is half VT and half CT he is black with red fins but his dorsal fin is blue. (VERY COOL)

I'm a sucker for the crowntails too. Sometimes the full finned ones look too 'weighed down' by their tails as if its a struggle to get around. But they're all gorgeous when they flare.

This forum is kinda dead isn't it? Anyway, I like double tailed bettas and plakats best. I've owned all the common tail types though. I really don't like crowntails, too messy.

Crowntails here. They look so elegant.

What do you mean by "too messy"....surely type of finnage is not a factor in the "messiness" of a particular fish........

Exactly why I said too messy. I don't find the crowntails to be that beautiful. I prefer a solid outline on a fish, hence the plakat and twintail being my favorites. I'm not saying crowntails are downright ugly, but they aren't for me.
