Re: New 40 Gallon!!
Thanks Neo........There was a 40gal tank on the market that was the same as a 55gal (48x12) just not as high. I had one that got destroyed in a hurricane we had years ago.

Re: New 40 Gallon!!
I was tempted to get the 55 gallon but I have no room for it (my parents make me keep all my tanks in my room)
Plus the 40 was only $70
I guess it's a good thing the tank is tall since I'm putting my angles in it.

Re: New 40 Gallon!!
Since I got my new tank I've been searching and researching for compatible tankmates for my kribs and angles,
So far I came up with:
Cockatoo cichlids (Krib tank)
Keyhole cichlids (Krib tank)
Checkerboard cichlids (angel tank)
Maybe a Severum (angel tank)
I labeled the Severum as a maybe because it can get around 8" and I'm not completly sure about their compatibility with angels. My LFS sells the gold variety and they are around 2".

Re: New 40 Gallon!!
Looks like I got a little ahead of myself and went ahead and bought the Keyhole and one Cockatoo.
I couldn't help it this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I had to get them before anyone else could.
So far I filled my tank with white sand and I started the filter, just 2 months before I can add fish.
I'm still debating the severum though.

Re: New 40 Gallon!!
"I couldn't help it"...familiar words!!! Be careful though...too many different cichlids in one tank can be trouble.........

Re: New 40 Gallon!!
Guess what I got offered a 100 gallon tank yesterday
It comes with the filter, a heater, gravel, and decor for only $200.
My only condition is that if I get it I have to take down my 10 gallons and I have to get silver dollers (my mom likes them ).
Even better news is that I don't have to keep it in my room.
