It’s now my 36th years than I’m in this hobby, in all those years I got a lot of different fish, the one I still prefer over all the other is the Labeo Bicolor.

for personality I like the Kuhli loaches real well. I also like swordtails for the different color varieties and ease of sexing them.

I will not say they are brute…….. I will say they protect their friends …… I have one at my side here, when I feed, the shrimp pellets, he let the loach eat, even the sturisoma who are eating at their side the algae pellets, but the other…barbs , … he chase them like ****.. So I guess it’s question on friendship….. In my other tank with only small fish like neon, rummy nose, the Labeos do not even notice them…..

5” , if I judge with the one at right with the relation eye – body, it’s look like a juvenile , may be it’s the angle of the camera, I will try to get some pics of mine tomorrow….. I have one pristine pure black, with no white spot on the edge of the fin….. but he is fat….. funny, I never see him eat……

May be I have an other choice, the Sunfish, I always keep one in a tank, they became like a pet, similar to an Oscar, they make you a dance for have food, you they came touch your hand when you clean the tank, even in the lake if you stay still they will came in the aquarium net by themselves…….ok I know you not suppose to catch wild fish and put it in your tank, but here in Quebec the law, say you can keep the capture fish alive on the spot where you catch them, I guess since the lake is at 80 feet of the aquarium it’s ok J , seriously I have a permit.
